The full wedding
Ceremony to last drinks
Guitar and vocal while you walk in, a trio through canapés, then the five of us for three dance sets.
The Bellhops
0400 000 015There is a moment twenty minutes into the second set when a wedding stops being a wedding and turns into a party. That is the bit we are for.
A thirty-second clip on somebody’s phone does not tell you whether a room gets up. What tells you is who is in the band, and what happens when the speeches run over.
The five of us are further down. These two were in the room.
Nobody sat down after the first song. My uncle is seventy-four and he was still out there at midnight.
The speeches ran forty minutes over. They shortened the first set without being asked.

Three sets, or two
Birthdays, engagements, the work Christmas party. Same band, same gear, shorter night.
Duo or trio, acoustic
For the front of the day when a DJ has the night. Two or three of us, no drums, a small PA.
With the venue and rough numbers. Back comes a yes or a no, and one price for the night.
Twenty per cent holds it. Until that lands the date is open to whoever asks next.
First dance, parent dances, the song you want and the one you never want to hear.
PA, lights and five of us, sound-checked before the first guest walks in.
The five names above are the five who play your night. If one of us cannot make a date, you hear it when you ask, not in the week of.
Nina takes the second vocal. Callum mixes front of house himself and is the one on the microphone when the raffle gets read out.
| PA | two tops, two subs |
|---|---|
| Lights | eight, on stands |
| Vocal mics | three |
| Desk | ours, and Callum mixes it |
Tell us the day and the venue. We check it against four other diaries and come back either way.
Saturdays go about eight months out. Fridays rarely do.
